Lenten Talks 2025: Finding Hope in the Jubilee Year

QUEZON CITY – The Diocesan Shrine of Jesus the Divine Word, a designated Jubilee shrine in the Diocese of Cubao, invites the faithful to a special Lenten talk series on “Jubilee and Hope in the Bible.”

When: Every Saturday of Lent at 4:30 PM

Where: Spes Pilgrim Center, Christ the King Seminary, Quezon City

This free series, organized in collaboration with the Diocese of Cubao Biblical Apostolate, the Catholic Biblical Association of the Philippines, and the Certificate in Biblical Studies, features renowned biblical scholars exploring themes of hope and renewal in Scripture.

• March 8 – Hope Does Not Disappoint: Saint Paul on Hope – Sr. Bernie Dianzon, FSP, SThD

• March 15 – Hope for Justice in Isaiah - Fr. Peter Vu, SVD, MA, SSL.

• March 22 – The Lord Hears the Cry of the People (Exod 2:23-25): Hope in God’s Attention – Fr. Rogel Abais, SJ, SThD

• March 29 – Hope and Lament in the Book of Lamentations – Dr. Rico Villanueva, PhD

• April 5 – Shocked by Hope: The Biblical Pattern of Finding Hope in Unlikely Places – Dr. Moses Catan, PhD

• April 12 – Mission and Hope in Matthew – Fr. Dante Barril, SVD, SThD

Light snacks will be served. Attendees may also join the anticipated Mass at 6:00 PM.
